WHAT ARE SCHOOL CREATIVE WORKSHOPS?
Creative School Workshops with Ellysium Illustration
With five years of teaching experience and a strong background in art and design, I am passionate about combining creativity with the curriculum to deliver fun, engaging, and hands-on workshops for your students. My sessions bring learning to life by integrating artistic techniques into key topics, making subjects more immersive and memorable.
For example, if your class is studying the Stone Age, why not experience history through art by creating cave paintings using traditional powder paint techniques? If you're covering the Romans, we can transform students into legionnaires, designing and crafting replica shields before heading outside to march in formation, reenacting the famous "tortoise shell" battle strategy.
Workshops can be tailored to fit any curriculum topic. Whether you’d like an art-focused session on a particular artist or technique, or a custom experience linked to a specific history, geography, or science unit, I can design a workshop that meets your needs.
I aim to keep pricing accessible by tailoring costs to materials used. For example, a session where students create clay Egyptian sculptures or tombs may have a slightly higher cost than a rainforest-in-a-box project. After an initial enquiry, I’ll provide a custom plan and quote, ensuring workshops remain affordable for all schools.
With extensive experience supporting students with SEND and diverse learning needs, my workshops are designed to be inclusive, engaging, and adaptable, ensuring every child can participate and thrive creatively.

MY PRIMARY AND DESIGN BACKGROUND
2015-2017
Interior, Product Design
With a background in Interior and Product Design, I have mastered a wide range of design elements, including digital illustration, CAD, product design, printing, painting, sketching, Photoshop, moulding, clay work, and more. This diverse skill set allows me to adapt seamlessly across multiple artistic disciplines. I have applied these skills through both my teaching and design roles, bringing creativity, versatility, and hands-on expertise to every project I undertake.
2017-2020
BA(Hons) Primary Education Degree
I studied Primary Education at Northumbria University, graduating with a 2:1 degree (just one mark off a First—something I may never let go... but anyway!). Specialising in Art and Design, I was passionate about creative education, and in my second year of training, I earned the Bronze Arts Award for delivering art creatively at a primary level. My knowledge across the curriculum was strong, and after qualifying during the challenging Covid years, I immediately began working in supply teaching, gaining valuable experience across different year groups.
2020-2022
Supply Teacher
After qualifying, I jumped straight into supply teaching, which gave me the opportunity to quickly build a broad knowledge of the curriculum. Adapting daily to new schemes of work, different teaching styles, and diverse classroom behaviours, I developed strong problem-solving skills and the ability to form quick, meaningful connections with both students and staff. This fast-paced experience not only strengthened my expertise across all subject areas but also played a key role in securing my permanent teaching position.
2022-2024
Classroom Teacher
During my time as a class teacher, I primarily taught in Year 4 and Year 5, though I have extensive experience across multiple year groups. I was passionate about making learning creative and engaging, weaving music, literacy, and, of course, art and design into my teaching wherever possible. Every opportunity was a chance to bring learning to life, something that was frequently highlighted by parents and reflected in the phenomenal academic progress of my students. Eventually, I made the difficult decision to leave my role to pursue my creative dreams, allowing me to design my own approach to teaching while growing my side business into something bigger.
PRESENT
Supply Teacher/ Creative Business Owner
Right now, I’m back in supply teaching, which gives me the flexibility to balance my work and creative passions. This allows me to stay connected with schools, keeping my teaching skills sharp, while also focusing on live illustrating and delivering school workshops. With a strong combination of teaching expertise and design experience, I’m excited to expand my path, offering more creative workshops and exploring new ways to bring art and education together.
